Using non-requested gpio pin cases printing error messages. To avoid this, gpio_request() is added for those gpios.

It occurred to me that we should perhaps avoid spaces in the label since Stephen Warren is talking about enhancing the gpio command to handle these labels. But I think we can always address this later if needed.
