hi , I am trying to compile u-boot for smdk2400(arm920t) board. I downloaded u-boot from http://sourceforge.net/projects/u-boot. Downloaded the crosscompiler from ftp://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/arm/toolchain/. After unzipping these things whe I try to compile u-boot , I get the following errors
----------- as: unrecognized option `-marmv4' In file included from crc32.c:12: /home/a0875451/mwd/u-boot/u-boot-0.3.0/include/common.h:39: asm/ptrace.h: No such file or directory /home/a0875451/mwd/u-boot/u-boot-0.3.0/include/common.h:40: stdarg.h: No such file or directory In file included from /home/a0875451/mwd/u-boot/u-boot-0.3.0/include/common.h:62, from crc32.c:12: /home/a0875451/mwd/u-boot/u-boot-0.3.0/include/flash.h:47: output pipe has been closed cpp0: output pipe has been closed make[1]: *** [crc32.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/a0875451/mwd/u-boot/u-boot-0.3.0/lib_generic' make: *** [subdirs] Error 1 ----------------
I tried to look for ptrace.h file. Found it in /u-boot-0.3.0/include/asm-arm/proc-armv. But I was not able to find the stdargs.h file. Can someone please guide me if I am downloading the u-boot from the correct place and how can I resolve these errors. regards -kshitij

Even better avoid serial downloads completely and use TFTP.
