[U-Boot-Users] Monitor Command Prompt displayed but system hangs

I am a beginner in embedded software development. I am working on porting U-BOOT for pxa255 processor on Accelent board. I want to get the Monitor command prompt through serial communication to my machine so that i can use the monitor commands to check the system status. We are booting from the FLASH and not from the RAM. I am able to get the Monitor command prompt but the system seems to be hanged, i cannot input any command. What could be the reason for this? I am held up with this problem for quite some time. Eagerly awaiting reply.
