I see that "spl: add support to booting with ATF" from Kever has been merged already, my understanding is that this series here is a prerequisite for this?

It'd be great if this would happen. It'll allow us (OpenBSD) to distribute a working "firmware" image for the Firefly-RK3399 and bring the number of patches that we need to juggle for the Pine64 and other Allwinner A64/H5 boards down to a more manageable level.
I myself tested these patches on the Firefly-RK3399, so feel free to add a
