I was wondering y I cannot observe the same with my U-boot. is there any extra configuration needed?
I checked the CFG_IXP425_CONSOLE macro in u-boot and saw thats its assigned to IXP425_UART1 of the IXP425 chip. I also checked the circuit diagram of my customised target platform and found that the console is connected to UART1 only.
What could be causing this problem?
Lot's of things could go wrong. For example the SDRAM setup. Or the input clock frequency. Or some GPIO's. Or etc...
You have to figure out the differences between your board and the Intel eval board and change the U-Boot files accordingly.
