Yes, we definitely should use the same names whenever possible. For example for the architecture and cpu definitions, like CONFIG_405GP or CONFIG_4xx.
But I don't think that we really should aim to merge the configuration systems completely. This would go too far.
Will U-Boot break, if the Linux .config is included in the Makefile?
Hopefully not. But again, I don't think this should be our goal here.
