Or shall I sync the whole libfdt as done in the Linux kernel? In that case, to which version shall I update, just to v1.4.7-57-gf267e674d145 or to the actual Linux kernel version v1.5.0-30-g702c1b6c0e73?
This is not possible as libfdt has increased its code size in a release release. I have sent a series to fix that but it still needs work.
