I finally got around to testing my udoo neo full with upstream u-boot and with 2017.03rc1 (building rc2 now) I'm seeing a reset when it tries to load data (I think). Details below, I'll test 2017.01 and 03rc2 shortly.
So playing around with this a little more on 2017.01 it seems my load addresses were duff but looking at the config there's also some issues there too. I have it booting with 2017.01, I'll play with 2017.03 too and likely send a patch (plus one to add distro boot support too).
