Given that the board is in a active use and that Pali is actively working on it... That does not seem like good idea or sensible thing to do.
That's why I posted this patch now, while I'm working on the rest of the to be removed boards. We're about to be 2 years past the conversion deadline which has been part of every build for at least a year prior to that. One way or another, whatever is blocking progress needs to get resolved.
