Seeing as I have also some fixes to do on patch V2 3/3, I'll report a whole V3 patch set with the description in the cover letter. Is that fine?
Change log is important to understand reviewers and other community friends to understand the history of the patch. In each patch you should maintain change log after line containing "---"
when patch will be applied, only commit log will be considered. So please segregate your information carefully.
Cover letter is optional, you better put enough information in the commit log relevant to patch
