The message I get is this : Uncompressing Linux.......................................................................................... done, booting the kernel.
Nothing shows up after this. The modified U-Boot version is "U-Boot 1.1.4".

Do you have CONFIG_CLOCKS_IN_MHZ defined? If so, try turning it off.
