This series proposes a new way to deal with alias nodes and introduces a function to take care of it.
Drivers can now request an ordered list of compatible nodes in a single step. This simplifies node discovery for drivers (and keeps this nasty code in a common place).
If DEBUG is defined the alias function will print messages in the event of a warning/error.
