This change adds the necessary /chosen/stdout-path to the device tree for the Avnet Picozed boards. This node is mandatory for the SPL. Without it the board resets in a loop without any output. This is a SoM. You need to do it differently because you need to describe carrier board and then include SoM dtsi.
