I'm banging my head trying to figure out why I'm unable to cross compile the u-boot tools for my target.
Currently, I'm able to run the following commands without any issue:

however I get an error when I run the following to cross compile the u-boot tools:

It looks wrong that your HOSTCC calls your cross compiler.
fatal error: stdint.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. scripts/Makefile.host:99: recipe for target 'tools/bmp_logo' failed make[1]: *** [tools/bmp_logo] Error 1 Makefile:1229: recipe for target 'tools' failed make: *** [tools] Error 2 davis@XPS-15-9560:/tmp/uboot-imx$
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Please try:
$ export CROSS_COMPILE=/path/to/your/yocto/toolchain $ make <your_defconfig> $ make
