Please refer to the latest reference manual about the two bits. The bit 17 and 18 should be XAM. See the section 10.3.1.2.1

Yikes, thats subtle. The OR tables for GPCM lists those bits as reserved, and reset and U-Boot is using the GPCM to access flash ... so I would have interpreted 'Figure 10-3 Option Registers (ORn) in GPCM' to mean those bits were reserved.
