I think that this is improper configuration of that get_maintainer.pl script. As it currently spams tons of people. And it is not really a good idea to spam people about unrelated stuff. Tom, could you do something with it?
I've been waiting for someone to submit a patch to tweak .get_maintainers.conf based on what I think Sean suggested last time. But in this case I'm not even sure what file was suggesting you.
