I think I've got a handle on why your "fat" patch doesn't work on my system. There is no call to init_part(&systemace_dev) anywhere. The cmd_ace.c:systemace_get_dev function should most likely be the place to make that call. When the sourceforge CVS server comes back to life, I'll make a version of your ace_fat patch that works for me. Then you can try it and see if it works for you as well.

I though you were going to send me a new patch to try out :p .

By adding the second patch, "ace_init.patch", to my original patch, "ace_fat.patch", everything should work out happily. Let me know otherwise.
