Note that nobody asked for lots of tiny patches. Please re-read the text, especially the part "[if] ... you are absolutely sure that you should not split it" ...
When it is already in the tree, yes, it is possible to use small patches and it is good to do so.
compressed -> unreadable -> ignored.
Please do not complain then.
