i've been pondering whether to help out here for a month or two. i know you're not entirely serious wrt removal, but i guess i can try being the net guy for now and see how it works out. i've done enough grubbing in the drivers/net/ and net/ code at this point to understand it. then it's "just" a matter of time. -mike
