I implemented bootsplash support for arm targets in u-boot. I'm reading dulg section 9.5. Splash Screen Support in Linux and can't find any reference to "CONFIG_8xx_PRE_INIT_FB" in edlk linux tree.
This feature was implemented first in our 2.4.4 kernel tree (module linux-2.4 on the CVS server); it has only lately been added to the recent kernel tree (module linuxppc_2_4_devel).
Is this option been deprecated ? If so, does anyone have any pointers to this matter (old source) ?
You can find both the old stuff and the current code on our CVS server. No, it has NOT been deprecated; it is actively used by a couple of projects.
