I digged a bit into it and noticed that for example mtd_read() in mtdcore.c has some differences which are not mentioned in the commit history. Perhaps this is some mistake, or I did something wrong - I wanted to mention it.
I have a branch containing this patchset there [1], just in case you want to make sure this is not a mistake you made when applying patches.
