[PATCH] lds: align u-boot-nodtb with 8 bytes boundary

Newer DTC require that the DTB start address is aligned at 8 bytes. In the u-boot.bin case, the u-boot-nodtb.bin is concatenated with the DTB, but there is no alignment/padding to the next 8byte aligned address. This causes the board to fail booting, because the FDT will claim that the DTB inside u-boot.bin is not a valid DTB, it will fail with -FDT_ERR_ALIGNMENT. To solve this, have the u-boot binary `_end` aligned with 8 bytes. The objcopy in the Makefile will create the u-boot-nodtb.bin and it has to be truncated to 8 bytes to correspond to the u-boot.map file which will have the `_end` aligned to 8 bytes. The lds files which use devicetrees have been changed to align the `_end` tag with 8 bytes. This patch is also a prerequisite to have the possibility to update the dtc inside u-boot to newer versions (1.6.1+) Signed-off-by: Eugen Hristev <eugen.hristev(a)microchip.com> --- Hi, I could not test all affected boards, it's an impossible task. I tried this on at91 boards which I have, and ran the CI on denx. I cannot guarantee that no other boards are affected, so this patch is a bit of an RFC. The VNBYTES() macro needs to have parentheses to prevent some (harmless) macro expansion bugs. The VNBYTES() macro is used like this: VID_TO_PIXEL(x) * VNBYTES(vid_priv->bpix) The * operation is done before the / operation. It still ends up with the same results, but it's not ideal. rk3399 issue: no DMA in Linux with mainline TF-A and U-Boot SPL

Hello Kever, on a rk3399, booting current U-Boot SPL with mainline TF-A leads to missing DMA (and no sound) on Linux. However, when using rockchip its so called mini-loader (rk3399_miniloader_v1.26.bin) and their BL31 (rk3399_bl31_v1.35.elf) to boot, DMA works perfectly fine. Tested on a custom rk3399 board and on ROCK Pi4. Attached to this mail are two boot logs with some debug prints: - good_amba_log.txt (DMA works) - no_amba_log.txt (no DMA device) The main difference I can spot between the two logs is that on Linux (drivers/amba/bus.c) AMBA_CID (0xb105f00d) cannot be found. Instead, only some CORESIGHT_CIDs (presumably for debugging) and four 0x00000000 CIDs are detected. As a result, the "PL330 DMAC-241330" driver does not load. My theory is that DMA needs to be allowed somewhere in the undocumented syscon- registers, similar to what U-Boot is already doing for eMMC in arch_cpu_init() (arch/arm/mach-rockchip/rk3399/rk3399.c). Any ideas? Or maybe I'm just missing some configuration? Since multiple software projects are involved (TF-A, OP-TEE, U-Boot, Linux), I Cc'ed a bit. Thanks -- Christoph

Let the EQoS in imx8mp handle fixed-phy too. Without that patch it lost track to the node to scan speed and duplex. Patch was created by Marek Vasut, just tested by me. This patchset tries to extend SPI-based boot code in sunxi SPL to support SPI NAND, following the same principle with current SPI NOR code (mimicking the behavior of sunxi BROM). In addition, as part of test to this patchset, some patches for Source Parts Inc. PopStick is attached, although marked DO NOT MERGE because the DT should come from Linux after it's ready. To keep thr code that accesses SPI NAND as simple as possible, it assumes fixed page size, which is also what sunxi BROM does. The SUNIV SPL assumes 0x400 page size, but here to utilize the space better, in the attached example of PopStick, U-Boot main part is assumed to be with 0x800 page size (which is the real situation of the W25N01 flash used by PopStick).
