[PATCH v7 00/15] vpl: Introduce a verifying program loader

U-Boot provides a verified-boot feature based around FIT, but there is no standard way of implementing it for a board. At present the various required pieces must be built up separately, to produce a working implementation. In particular, there is no built-in support for selecting A/B boot or recovery mode. This series introduces VPL, a verified program loader phase for U-Boot. Its purpose is to run the verified-boot process and decide which SPL binary should be run. It is critical that this decision happens before SPL runs, since SPL sets up SDRAM and we need to be able to update the SDRAM-init code in the field. Adding VPL into the boot flow provides a standard way of implementing verified boot. This series includes the phase itself, some useful Kconfig options and a sandbox_vpl build for sandbox. Most of the patches in this series are fixes and improvements to docs and various Kconfig conditions for SPL so can be applied separately if needed. The last four patches introduce VPL. [PATCH 1/2] xyz-modem: Wait infinitely for initial y-modem packet

Now when command loady can be aborted / cancelled by CTRL+C, change wait timeout for initial packet to infinite. This would allow user to not be hurry when locating file which want to send. Commands loadb and loads already waits infinitely too. This patch series automatically detects CONFIG_SYS_TCLK value, set it in global mach/soc.h file and remove manual CONFIG_SYS_TCLK value from all mvebu/kirkwood board config files. So it just a cleanup to avoid defining custom macros in board config files which can be automatically detected. Could you test these patches on a38x and a37x platforms that nothing is broken? [PATCH v2 0/5] DFU: Update dfu_alt_info parser etc.

Hi, Here is the 2nd version of improving DFU subsystem series. This improves dfu_alt_info parser and fixing documents etc. In this version I fixed a build error of cmd/dfu.c so that it can be build without DFU_OVER_USB and DFU_OVER_TFTP (in this case, the platform will use the DFU only for EFI capsule update.) When I was debuging my patch for updating dfu_alt_info on the DeveloperBox platform, I found that dfu_alt_info parser didn't accept redundant spaces and tabs. Also the dfu.rst description seems wrong. Moreover, there is no way to check whether the parser parses the dfu_alt_info correctly. These patches fixes such issues. [1/5] is just for avoiding buffer overrun, [2/5] and [3/5] improves dfu_alt_info parser to accept redundant spaces and tabs, and check the number of arguments strictly so that the parser (and user) can notice any unexpected parameters. [4/5] fixes the documents (there seems some wrong description maybe coming from copy&paste). [5/5] allows user to run 'dfu list' even if the platform doesn't support DFU_OVER_USB nor DFU_OVER_TFTP. U-Boot SPL is executed by the BootROM. And BootROM expects that U-Boot SPL code returns back to the BootROM. Reset vectors during execution of U-Boot SPL should not be changed as BootROM does not expect it and uses its own reset vectors. Add ifdefs which disable overwriting reset vectors for 32-bit mvebu platforms on which U-Boot SPL should returns back to the BootROM. [PATCH 1/3] mmc: fsl_esdhc_imx: use VENDORSPEC_FRC_SDCLK_ON when necessary

From: Haibo Chen <haibo.chen(a)nxp.com> After commit f132aab40327 ("Revert "mmc: fsl_esdhc_imx: use VENDORSPEC_FRC_SDCLK_ON to control card clock output""), it involve issue in mmc_switch_voltage(), because of the special design of usdhc. For FSL_USDHC, it do not implement VENDORSPEC_CKEN/PEREN/HCKEN/IPGEN, these are reserved bits(Though RM contain the definition of these bits, but actually internal IC logic do not implement, already confirm with IC team). Instead, use VENDORSPEC_FRC_SDCLK_ON to gate on/off the card clock output. Here is the definition of this bit in RM: [8] FRC_SDCLK_ON Force CLK output active Do not set this bit to 1 unless it is necessary. Also, make sure that this bit is cleared when uSDHC’s clock is about to be changed (frequency change, clock source change, or delay chain tuning). 0b - CLK active or inactive is fully controlled by the hardware. 1b - Force CLK active In default, the FRC_SDCLK_ON is 0. This means, when there is no command or data transfer on bus, hardware will gate off the card clock. But in some case, we need the card clock keep on. Take IO voltage 1.8v switch as example, after IO voltage change to 1.8v, spec require gate off the card clock for 5ms, and gate on the clock back, once detect the card clock on, then the card will draw the dat0 to high immediately. If there is not clock gate off/on behavior, some card will keep the dat0 to low level. This is the reason we fail in mmc_switch_voltage(). To fix this issue, and concern that this is only the fsl usdhc hardware design limitation, set the bit FRC_SDCLK_ON in the beginning of the wait_dat0() and clear it in the end. To make sure the 1.8v IO voltage switch process align with SD specification. For standard tuning process, usdhc specification also require the card clock keep on, so also add these behavior in fsl_esdhc_execute_tuning(). As noted with the last release, the -next branch is open and I'll sync in -rc3 shortly. Please feel free to get a PR ready now if you're able. In terms of a changelog, git log --merges v2022.01-rc2..v2022.01-rc3 contains what I've pulled but as always, better PR messages and tags will provide better results here. [RFC PATCH] tools: kwbimage: Allow to disable compilation of kwbimage on non-mvebu platforms

kwbimage depends on libcrypto. 32-bit mvebu platforms (except Orion and Discovery, which are not in mach-mvebu) require kwimage for building SPL. Some users want to compile u-boot tools without libcrypto. Therefore add a new symbol CONFIG_TOOLS_KWBIMAGE which controls compilation of kwbimage and define correct dependences between mvebu, kwbimage and libcrypto targets. This allows disabling of kwbimage compilation on non-mvebu platforms.
