[PATCH v1 1/1] Makefile.lib: Always rebuild DSDT

The dsdt.asl is usually combined out of several files that are included in the main one. Whenever we change the content of any of such files, build system is not able to recognize them. Hence the easiest way is to force DSDT rebuild each time we run make. But we really have to walk the dm tree to create a device patch for USB devices based on port IDs. We should add a new field to struct uclass_driver: struct efi_device_path *get_node(udevice *dev); This function shall return a pointer to an freshly allocated buffer with the device node for the device. To build the devicepath we can then walk the dm tree. In lan78xx_read_otp() we want to know if sig is LAN78XX_OTP_INDICATOR_1 or LAN78XX_OTP_INDICATOR_2. In the case of matching the first one we set offset to itself, and clang warns about this. kwboot: Marvell Dove UART booting

Hi all, With great help from Pali, I've made some good progress on kwboot the HP Thin Client T5335z (Marvell Dove SoC) board. I had been unsuccessful running kwboot with this box until Pali pointed out a few important aspects of the Dove SoC, and how the BootROM commands work (my apology for forgetting to include the u-boot-mailing list and Marek on previous email exchanges). Here is the summary of the attempt to kwboot. HP Thin Client T5335z Marvell Dove SoC 88AP510 (A1) 1Ghz CPU 1 GB RAM - Reset Strapping: As with all Dove SoCs, there is no preamble when we send the u-boot image over the serial line. IOW, no magic handshake string to tell the BootROM that we are booting over UART. Instead, the hardware must explicitly set to UART mode booting. For boards like the Solidrun Cubox, there is a button, and some other board, a DIP switch, to enable this mode. For the T55335z, there is no button or DIP switch on the board for that purpose. Instead, there is a jumper (the exact purpose is unknown), but I found that this jumper will put the BootROM into debug mode. And from the BootROM debug prompt, we can execute a command to set the boot mode to UART with "x command. Various specifications of riscv allow the number of hart to be greater than 32. The limit of 32 is determined by gd->arch.available_harts. We can eliminate this limitation through bitmaps. Currently, the number of hart is limited to 4095, and 4095 is the limit of the RISC-V Advanced Core Local Interruptor Specification. Test on sifive unmatched. linksys wrt1900acs v2 boot problem

Hi, I have a problem with my linksys wrt1900acs. My main question is this a hardware problem or software problem? Is it possible to address? I have started researching and have tried with "kwboot" under Windows VM - Ubuntu 20 - Linux but I have a problem with usb serial connection. I have tried several things but I understand that it isn't possible to start USB to Serial on a Windows VM. I will expect your response. Thank you in advance. kwboot : bug when board stops acking

Hi list, I think there's a bug in kwboot. I have a faulty board that stops acking xmodem frames after a certain number of packets and kwboot instead of exiting continues to send frames up to 100%. With the one second retry timer it's very long! More than 2 hours :-( The bug is in the kwboot_xm_sendblock() fonction : https://gitlab.denx.de/u-boot/u-boot/blob/master/tools/kwboot.c#L375 kwboot_tty_recv detects the timeout but the return value is based on the last character received (line 403) The variable c is not initialized so if it keeps the previous value which is ACK => rc=0 => infinite loop There are several ways to fix the bug: * Surround the "switch(c)" with a test: if ( !((rc == -1) && (errno == ETIMEDOUT)) ) { rc = -1; switch (c) { case ACK: rc = 0; break; case NAK: errno = EBADMSG; break; case CAN: errno = ECANCELED; break; default: errno = EPROTO; break; } } return rc; * In the case of a TIMEOUT set c to a specific value and add the case in the switch Do you agree with my diagnosis?
