This includes the TWL6030 power driver in SPL, to allow powering up MMC devices. This is especially relevant when the bootrom didn't power any MMC device yet but U-Boot is to be loaded from MMC (e.g. after setting boot mode from the SYS_BOOT pins in peripheral boot). [U-Boot] [PATCH] common: show "Boot media" menu only for some TI and Freescale SoCs

The CONFIG_"_BOOT does not control anything in common code; they are mostly used to enable a set of options in include/configs/<board>.h, in other words, the behavior of these options are highly SoC specific. Actually, nothing happens for other SoCs than some TI, Freescale ones. This menu is weird in multiple ways: [1] These options, which make sense only for TI and Freescale boards, are visible to all. The menu was place in the common place perhaps because TI and Freescale just happened to use the same config names. [2] Multiple boot media can be enabled, and its behavior is probably undefined. This will be solved by changing "menu" to "choice". I leave this to somebody who has interest. [3] All boot media, some of them are not supported, are visible. In fact, I do not see any reference to CONFIG_ONENAND_BOOT, CONFIG_SATA_BOOT. This commit addresses [1]. Instead of pushing the menu away to SoC Kconfig files or somewhere, one alternative solution is to hide such a non-sense menu because it is misleading users of other boards. [U-Boot] [RFC PATCH 00/12] imx: mx6: add virtual mx6memcal board

This patch set makes use of the dynamic DDR calibration routines added in commit d339f16 to define an alternative to the Freescale DDR stress tester tool. The goals of this effort are to make the process of DDR validation easier and more robust: - The use of SPL simplifies the process of running DDR calibration through the imx_usb or SB_LOADER.exe tools (no need for JTAG) - The use of Kconfig makes the set of board-specific parameters more obvious. - The output of the SPL image can be directly pasted into either the DCD configuration file or U-Boot sources. The notable feature of the DDR stress tool which isn't present in this virtual board file is the testing across CPU frequencies. Patches 1-3 contain structural changes to those routines to return the calibration data and allow configuration of memory without a pre-defined set of calibration data. Patches 4 and 5 add a struct mx6_ddr_sysinfo parameter to the calibration routines and use it to fix the use of the calibration routines on CPU variants which don't have two MMDC ports (tested on i.MX6SL). Patches 6-7 simplify the selection of the DDR calibration routines and allow use on other CPU variants (again, tested on i.MX6SL). Patch 8 is the meat of the patch set and defines the board itself and a single configuration sample that can be used on mx6sabresd or mx6qsabreauto. Patches 9-12 define a set of other configurations to match other boards that I've tested during development. Note that the configurations with LPDDR (mx6slevk and WaRP) are not currently functional. I believe that patches 1-7 are minor and can be applied after a short review, but the patch set is an RFC because of some fundamental questions: - Is it okay with Freescale that I'm the maintainer for a board in the board/freescale tree? I don't particularly want to be the maintainer of this set of tools, but I want them, so I will try to maintain those portions that I'm in a position to test. - What about the board name? Though I haven't looked deeply at it, but I think that some of this code could be shared with i.MX7. - I'm including some configurations for boards that don't currently function (mx6slevk) or haven't been tested (warp) for reference and further updates. I'm also including a configuration for a board that isn't supported in main-line U-Boot (nitrogen6_max). [U-Boot] [PATCH v2 00/11] Allow secure boot on AM33xx devices

Hello all, I've recently been tasked with enabling authenticated boot for AM33xx based devices. This work is similar to what has already been done for the AM43xx and AM57xx SoCs and leverages much of the infrastructure from them. The big difference here is the size of SRAM available on AM33xx being much less than on the other SoCs, when performing a secure boot this limits the maximum size of the SPL to just ~41k, the SPL currently generated for AM33xx SoCs is ~70k. To trim down the SPL we move various options from the config headers to the Kconfig system so we can selectively disable them in HS specific defconfigs. These changes are added as RFC patches. [U-Boot] [PATCH 00/42] Kconfig: Move CONFIG_SPL_..._SUPPORT to Kconfig

This series moves all the CONFIG_SPL_..._SUPPORT options to Kconfig and fixes up existing boards to continue to build. It also adds a few small but useful features to moveconfig. There is existing work going on in this area, so some of these patches may be superseded. It has taken me a while to get this building cleanly. But I have run out of time so want to get this out. As mentioned on a recent thread [1] there is some confusion about whether an option means enabling driver support or media support. Andrew's recent series seems like a good vehicle to tidy that up. But I hope this series will make it easier. There are a few strange features of this conversion. The main difficulty is that some PowerPC boards do things like this in their board config file: #ifdef CONFIG_TPL_BUILD #define CONFIG_SPL_SERIAL_SUPPORT #define CONFIG_SPL_ENV_SUPPORT #else #define CONFIG_SPL_SERIAL_SUPPORT #endif This means that TPL reuses the SPL options. We can't support this in Kconfig so I have added a small number of CONFIG_TPL_xxx_SUPPORT options to cope with this. This made the conversion more painful than it should have been. A related issue is boards using a common header file and setting options only for SPL: #ifdef CONFIG_SPL_BUILD #define CONFIG_SPL_SERIAL_SUPPORT #endif This is not noticed by moveconfig so we have to clean it up manually. Also there are a few incorrect things where Kconfig options are set with #define: #ifdef CONFIG_SPL_BUILD #define CONFIG_SPL_DM #endif Finally, many defconfig files are not ordered correctly, resulting in larger patches than we might like. It would be great to have a solution for this, perhaps with buildman providing a warning. But it might slow down development. The series is fully build-tested (for bisectability) and causes no failures for the boards that already pass. [U-Boot] [PATCH] sunxi: Tune H3 DRAM PLL to improve lock time

The H3 PLL5 used for DRAM barely manages to lock to the required frequency before DRAM controller starts, sometimes leading to wrong delay-line calibration results. This patch changes the PLL tuning parameters to the same values as boot0 used, which speeds up the locking and fixes the problem. Signed-off-by: Jens Kuske <jenskuske(a)gmail.com> --- Hi all, this might fix some of the DRAM reliability problems seen on H3 boards, but I could only test it on one board myself, where it only improves results for dram clocks above 648 MHz. But my board didn't suffer from reliability problems at 672 MHz, so maybe it helps on boards where 672 isn't stable. Even if there are no visible effects on reliability, this is what boot0 does, and it definitely fixes something, see table below: DRAM clock delay steps without patch with patch 552 MHz: 36 36 576 MHz: 35 35 600 MHz: 34 34 624 MHz: 32 32 648 MHz: 31 31 672 MHz: 31 30 696 MHz: 31 29 720 MHz: 31 28 744 MHz: 31 27 768 MHz: 31 26 Looks like the clock only reached ~648 MHz when calibration is run, leading to increasing error for higher clocks. If someone wants to reproduce this test, the delays are from the DXnLCDL1 registers (0x01c63308 + 0..3 * 0x80) and are responsible for phase-shifting DQS signals by 90deg relative to DQ.
