[U-Boot] kernel splash customisation after u-boot splash

Hi, I am working on an embedded project where I need to set a single consistent splash screen during u-boot,kernel and init phases. I have completed the u-boot part. Now I want to configure linux in such a way that, it doesn't override the splash created by u-boot. So u-boot splash persists until init phase. Please see the reply to my SO query <http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23934379/linux-boot-disable-display-fram…> . sawdust <http://stackoverflow.com/users/1599004/sawdust> says that I need to make u-boot initialise the framebuffer at a memory location which will not be reinitialized during kernel boot. Is that possible? Can someone explain this? Or is there is another way to accomplish this, please let me know. Kiran

1/3 re-writes dts/Makefile more simply. It does not change the behavior except removal of ./u-boot.dts 2/3 moves *.dts from board/$(VENDOR)/dts to arch/$(ARCH)/dts 3/3 adds multipe DTBs generation (Multiple DTBs generation was suggested by Simon.) This patch uses my Kbuild series as a prerequisite. "Switch over to real Kbuild" series version 9 must be applied beforehand. [U-Boot] usbkbd not working

Hello, I can't seem to get my USB keyboard working. USB storage devices work fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I've issued `usb start` and then `env set input serial,nc,usbkbd` I'm running U-Boot 2014.07-rc1-15746-g3a56482 from the -imx tree. Hi Rik, This patch is for U-Boot only. You might wanna find the kernel patch at http://rocketboards.org/gitweb/?p=linux-socfpga.git;a=commit;h=23b95d8c25d3… While for your issue, its quite strange. Currently, we are using 512 byte sector protected with 8 bit ECC. With this configuration, we will need around 58 bytes at OOB. This is to accommodate 2 bytes bad block market + 42 bytes data + 14 bytes ECC. Wonder you are using different configuration? Thanks and have a nice day! [U-Boot] bootfile environment variable

Hello,I have a DHCP server set up to provide all of the environment variables listed at the bottom of this page: http://www.denx.de/wiki/view/DULG/UBootEnvVariablesSpecifically, I've configure my DHCP server to provide option #67, Bootfile name, as "zImage"u-boot picks up on this nicely and so when I run=> dhcpu-boot downloads zImage from my TFTP server. However, I've found it impossible to download any other file with this setup. For example, I expect that when I execute=> dhcp 0x120000000 192.168.1.1:zImage2or=> dhcp zImage2I should get the zImage2 file. Unfortunately, zImage is downloaded in all cases. I've been unable to find any command (DHCP, TFTP) that I can issue that will allow me to download any file other than the DHCP provided default file. Removing/disabling option #67 from my DHCP server solves the problem and u-boot can download any file I ask from my TFTP server. I'm running commit 9665fa8f9e1488209d5e01d0792c243e0a220c5a It seems like the proper behavior would be be that the DHCP provided file name is overridden by a file name given at the u-boot prompt and the DHCP provided file name is only downloaded when no file name is specified at the command line. Hello! The UDOO quad board support is part of your bootloader. I've set up a board with U-Boot and linux kernel 3.15-rc7. To get USB support I used the linux kernel patches of Fabio Estevam, that you could found here http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.usb.general/98041. I changed them a little bit, to get them applied to the recent kernel. When I informed me of the progress to include the linux patch mainline, I learned, that the PHY clock should be enabled in the bootloader. Could you help me / give me some hint, how to turn on the USB PHY clock in the bootloader for the UDOO quad board? Is there some similar approach for other boards? Best regards, Markus Rathgeb
