[U-Boot] [PATCH] EXYNOS: SPI: Minimise access to SPI FIFO level

Accessing SPI registers is slow, but access to the FIFO level register in particular seems to be extraordinarily expensive (I measure up to 600ns). Perhaps it is required to synchronise with the SPI byte output logic which might run at 1/8th of the 40MHz SPI speed (just a guess). Reduce access to this register by filling up and emptying FIFOs more completely, rather than just one word each time around the inner loop. Since the rxfifo value will now likely be much greater that what we read before we fill the txfifo, we only fill the txfifo halfway. This is because if the txfifo is empty, but the rxfifo has data in it, then writing too much data to the txfifo may overflow the rxfifo as data arrives. This speeds up SPI flash reading from about 1MB/s to about 2MB/s on snow. [U-Boot] [RFC PATCH 0/6] ARMv7: Add HYP mode switching support

ARM CPUs with the virtualization extension have a new mode called HYP mode, which allows hypervisors to safely control and monitor guests. The current hypervisor (KVM and Xen) implementations require the kernel to be entered in that HYP mode. This patch series introduces a new U-Boot command called "hypmode" which can be used at any time at the U-Boot command prompt to switch the CPU into HYP mode - ideally this would be done before starting the kernel. Since U-Boot does not use the MMU, it runs fine in HYP mode, so you could as well enter HYP mode earlier. The process of switching into HYP mode requires the CPU to be in non-secure state, which requires the GIC to be programmed properly first. Explanations about the details are in the commit messages of the respective patches. The code aims to be as generic as possible, though currently it has only been tested on the Versatile Express TC-2 board. The last patch thus enables the feature for that board and relies on the Versatile Express updates patches sent out lately[1]. I would like to get some feedback on the patches, especially about: 1) Is the code in the right places? I used arch/arm/lib/ and arch/arm/cpu/armv7/ as directories for the ARM code and common/ for the actual command. 2) Is a command to switch to HYP actually the right thing? Should HYP be entered automatically instead? Or provide an option to skip HYP mode if requested by the user? 3) Does it make sense to provide a "nonsec" command also? I cannot name any usecases by now, but the implementation would be rather easy with basically all the functionality already there. Currently the base setting for CFLAGS is split in two possibilities, one with -DBUILD_TAG appended at the end and one without, the rest of CFLAGS is the same in both cases. Change this so CFLAGS are always set and the -DBUILD_TAG is appended in separate ifdef. Hi Tom and Albert, please pull this patchset related to arm zynq to your tree. I haven't got any ACK for gem and platform changes but the whole patchset was reviewed by Tom. Also not all patches are ARM core specific but they are affecting zynq platform that's why I think it can go directly to Tom tree. Please let me know if you have any problem with it. I can create more branches with specific patches which should go through specific trees. I have removed fpga related patch because I have some others pending fpga patches and I will group them together.
