This is based on Linux kernel -next: commit a1256b0e087ed3cdb584c683acb966ee885f733c Author: Brian Norris <computersforpeace(a)gmail.com> Date: Fri Jul 13 09:28:24 2012 -0700 mtd: nand: allow NAND_NO_SUBPAGE_WRITE to be set from driver The NAND_CHIPOPTIONS_MSK has limited utility and is causing real bugs. It silently masks off at least one flag that might be set by the driver (NAND_NO_SUBPAGE_WRITE). This breaks the GPMI NAND driver and possibly others. Really, as long as driver writers exercise a small amount of care with NAND_* options, this mask is not necessary at all; it was only here to prevent certain options from accidentally being set by the driver. But the original thought turns out to be a bad idea occasionally. Thus, kill it. Note, this patch fixes some major gpmi-nand breakage. Optional support for the SPI pins routed to header J8 is added for testing SPI flash chips. This was tested with a Spansion S25FL256S1. This is not enabled by default, because it breaks TSEC2 due to a pinmux conflict. Support for the onboard eSDHC MMC/SD controller is added. The SPI controller driver is fixed so that it works with MPC8308RDB (probably all 83xx boards are broken before this fix). Without the fix, the waveforms generated by the driver are incorrect (confirmed with an oscilloscope). Ira W. With onfi a flash is organized into one or more logical units (LUNs). A logical unit (LUN) is the minimum unit that can independently execute commands and report status. Mtd does not exploit LUN, so make it see a big single flash where size is lun_size * number_of_lun. Without this patch MT29F8G08ADBDAH4 size is 512MiB instead of 1GiB. Hi all, this is a follow up on the patch "USB: EHCI: Initialize multiple USB controllers at once" from Jim Lin. It takes some of the code but has undergone some heavy reworking. When we remove the ifdef horror from the above mentioned patch it's mostly a big interface change to the usb subsystem. As this creates a lot of churn I've split this up into a series. Every patch is self contained so it doesn't break compiles and *should* not regress any functionality on it's own. At least the series is bisectable in case anything goes wrong. I've compile tested all the ARM configs. Both the lowlevel usb and ehci interface change are backward compatible, so implementations that only use one controller can choose to ignore the new interface. All implementations are updated to work with the new function prototypes. For Tegra I've included a patch to actually use the new ehci interface. Tom, Stephen, can I get an ACK from you for this, so Marek can take this through his USB tree? All patches now rebased onto u-boot-usb/master. Patch 3 also includes some cosmetic changes, to make the output of the usb commands more readable. [U-Boot] U-boot's stack space on a Sequoia board

Hello, I recently spent quite a lot of time finding a problem where U-boot was overwriting part of its stack onto my kernel that I had downloaded via tftpboot. The board I am using is a Sequoia, powerpc 440EPx board running U-boot 1.2.0-gc0c292b2 (Jun 5 2007 - 07:16:12). I found that when I booted my Linux kernel, part of its text space was corrupted upon entry. I traced this back to U-boot writing a command line and board info record into its own stack space (- 2048 bytes). This happens in common/cmd_bootm.c What surprised me was that this board (fairly old now) has 256M of memory, but U-boot's stack pointer was around the 8MB point (the pointer to the board info record passed into my kernel is address 0x007ffe70 -- just under 8M). So I have a couple of questions: 1) Any idea why the stack pointer would be so low in memory? 2) Is there any way to tell, once the board is up and running U-boot, where its stack space is so that I can be sure to avoid running into it? The U-boot that is running on this board wasn't compiled with DEBUG enabled. Thanks for your consideration, - Corey
