IGEP-based boards can have two different flash memories, a OneNAND or a NAND device. Since u-boot still lacks of a device model to be the able to look at run-time which memory type is available on a the board, a built time config option is needed to choose which memory to use. This is a resend of a patch-set that adds both a config option for the nand memory type and SPL support to IGEP-based boards. This small series of patches tidies up the clock IDs that are used to interact with the PLL controllers on the DaVinci DA8xx processors. It more clearly defines the structure and meaning of the IDs and untangles some model-specific code that can't be shared among the family. This tidying allows three bugs to be identified and resolved: - on the DA850, UART2's clock may come from ASYNC3, unlike the DA830; - the DA830 doesn't have a DDR2/mDDR PHY, or a PLL controller for it; - the DSP speed reported by bdinfo was not being initialised on the DA8xx family. Perhaps you have some more hints about what to do? Most likely it is because it will try to access the network, but you missed to setup the CS5 as per the Freescale U-boot init sequence. Hello, as I am actual trying to get the keymile boards in sync with actual mainline u-boot, I faced the following Problem with an Intel Strata Flash on the mgcoge (mpc8247 based board): I couldn;t unprotect/erase/write/protect some (not all!) Flash sectors. For Example, I could do this without errors on the sectors where u-boot sits (First three sectors), but not with the environment (next two sectors)! After some debugging, I found out, that, if I revert commit commit 54652991caedc39b2ec2e5b49e750669bfcd1e2e Author: Philippe De Muyter <phdm(a)macqel.be> Date: Tue Aug 17 18:40:25 2010 +0200 Work around bug in Numonyx P33/P30 256-Mbit 65nm flash chips. I have "ported" U-boot to a in house made board with Numonyx Axcell P33/P30 256-Mbit 65nm flash chips. After some time :( searching for bugs in our board or soft, we have discovered that those chips have a small but annoying bug, documented in "Numonyx Axcell P33/P30 256-Mbit Specification Update" [...] It works again fine, and without problems ... did somebody faced similiar issues with the cfi driver? Hey all, The following series of patches improves am33xx support, and cleans up omap3/4/5 slightly. The slight cleanup to omap3/4/5 is that we can all share a single function to see if we are executing in SDRAM or not. The rest of the series cleans up the EMIF code for am33xx. While I had hoped to be able to re-use the omap4/5 code as the EMIF unit is the same block, it's simply wired up too differently to reuse the same codebase. We can however reuse the register structs so some of the commits here are about changing to use that. There's also bugfixes to the DDR2 init sequence and cleanups that will make adding DDR3 support easier. I also update the am335x_evm config to be like a "normal" board and support common commands and booting Linux. -- Tom

The gpio_from_string() call shall parse the incoming GPIO name taken from the command line and return the GPIO number used within U-Boot or return -1 on error. The gpio_to_string() on the other hand allows nicer reporting of GPIO name in the output of cmd_gpio. There are more than the M25Pxx serial flashs that can be used with the stmicro driver, for example: the M25PXxx or N25Qxx serie. All these chips have burned in the original stmicro manufacture id 0x20 together with a standard two-byte signature. In preperation to support all these chips the stmicro driver have to decode the full two-byte signature.
