Hai, We have designed MPC8548 based AMC card. We are using u-boot-1.2.0 and it was up. Now we plan to boot the uboot in the EEPROM without using FLASH. Is it possible to boot the uboot in the EEPROM ?. We are using AT24C64C EEPROM(64KB) and it was configured as Extended I2C addressing mode. Recently the documentation in Documentation/nfsroot.txt was update to note that in fact ip=off and ip=::::::off as the latter is ignored and the default (on) is used. This was certainly a step in the direction of reducing confusion. But it seems to me that the code ought to be fixed up so that ip=::::::off actually turns off ip autoconfiguration. I'm working on a custom board with a MPC8347 and I've got a question about the configuration of the IBAT and DBAT for the DDR-SDRAM. I use u-boot 1.3.0 and my board's configuration is based on the MPC8349ITX. Our board has 1GB of RAM, since the maximum size for IBAT/DBAT is 256MB I have to use 4 of them to "map" the all memory. We plan to have a 2GB version of the board and I'm wondering what to do with IBAT/DBAT configuration since with 2 GB of RAM I would need to use all of the 8 IBAT/DBAT available but some of them are used for the PCI and other peripherals. Does someone know how to get around this? Hi, Currently do_bootelf() disables data cache just before passing control to the entry point: /* * QNX images require the data cache is disabled. * Data cache is already flushed, so just turn it off. */ if (dcache_status ()) dcache_disable (); With this piece of code present I'm seeing strange effects (corrupt data access, hangs) in standalone apps running from the ELF envelope. A pure binary made of this same ELF works without problems. Contrary to the comment above, there's no quarantee in do_bootelf() code flow that all data cache has been flushed and it seems there needs to be flush_data_cache() executed before the disable. 1. Does it really hold true that QNX requires d-cache disabled upon passing control to it? 2. If so, this is a custom QNX thing that belongs to do_bootm_qnxelf() and should be handled there and not at the common ELF handling level. Any objections to pushing this down to do_bootm_qnxelf()? I can provide a patch, but cannot test it with any QNX system. Is there anyone with such setup that would give this a try? Rafal

Due to a mis-configuration of our DHCP server there was an overlapping range of DHCP assigned IP address and units configured to have IP addresses statically assigned. I was surprised to find that UBOOT did not complain of a duplicate IP address while trying to boot via the network. Looking through the source I cannot see any code to perform the typical ARP for yourself check that I have seen before.
