Hi All, I have found an option in u-boot to load the kernel image via nfs. I did not find unfortunately anything about that in the u-boot manual apart from that concerning the root file system. Is it than possible to load kernel image via nfs? If so which parameters to specify. [U-Boot-Users] Thoughts on PCI card init via x86emu w/ PPC

Hi all, we are using uboot 1.1.6 w/ a custom mpc8560, with 3 PCI slots, and want to use an off-the-shelf video card such as ATI radeon 9250, and 3-ware 8006 SATA controller. We need to initialize the video board using its bios, so need to get the bios ROM code and execute it in x86 emulation mode. I saw where uboot has the x86emu compiled in for some other applications, would this be a viable option for us? Would it work for more than just the video board? The controller bios apparently uses the video card in VGA mode at its init time to allow the user to config the controller via ctrl-h, so the video would need to be initialized first, then the controller, and I'd need to figure out how to send the ctrl-h since I'm only connected via serial port now, not sure if thats what the controller is looking for. Any guidance appreciated, thanks. - UnderDog

[U-Boot-Users] [PATCH] Fix ULI RTC support on MPC8544 DS

The RTC on the M1575 ULI chipset requires a dummy read before we are able to talk to the RTC. We accomplish this by adding a second memory region to the PHB the ULI is on and read from it. The second region is added to maintain compatiabilty with Linux's view of the PCI memory map. Hello, I have an PXA270 bord with U-boot version 1.1.2 (Dec 22 2005 - 09:10:28) I want to change the file stream stdin and stdout to the serial COM port 2, now its on COM1 I tried with -setenv stdin serial1 -saveenv also tried with -setenv stdin=serial1 -saveenv but no luck. From: Grant Likely <grant.likely(a)secretlab.ca> The TFTP OACK code trusts that the incoming packet is formated as ASCII text and can be processed by string functions. It also as a loop limit overflow bug where if the packet length is less than 8, it ends up looping over *all* of memory to find the 'blksize' string. This occurs because 'len' is an unsigned value, and 'len-8' is also calculated as unsigned which results in a huge loop limit. This patch solves the problem by using memmem() to search for the sub string.
