[U-Boot-Users] Need help with u-boot fb IF

Hi All, I'm trying to write a driver for an ARM9 framebuffer using the existing API. It appears that the API functions are in common/lcd.c but no one seems to be using this. The examples I've looked at seem to be doing things their own way. Could someone gave me gsome pointers on how to get started? Most grateful. junior

Add sync at the end of flash_write_cmd for MPC86xx to ensure write command are really finished before reading data Signed-off-by: Haiying Wang <haiying.wang(a)freescale.com> --- According to Tolunay's first suggestion, this patch for cfi_flash driver fixed the flash operation error on MPC8641HPCN board. Since there is not such flash error reported on 85xx, 83xx platform and as Tolunay said, there is not a PowerPC macro to define, I just use CONFIG_MPC86xx for now. I also tested his second suggestion(adding udelay directly after reset command), but flash still failed to work. Based on my tests before (I added udelay after the flash_write_cmd() which switched flash to CFI read mode, and it worked as well) and the test with this patch, I think that most possible fix of this issue should be that we should make sure command has been fully executed before return to data read mode(as in his first suggestion). hi, I am using MPC8272ADS based custom board. Hi All, I tried with the latest versatile PB926EJ-S (Lead Free Version). The failure i get is: DRAM: 0kb Flash: 0kb Whereas in the old boards, it used to say DRAM: 0kb Flash: 64M And after that, in the new board, when I try to do a saveenv, it fails with a "start/end address not on sector boundary". The same image works perfectly in the older boards (purchased last year). Anyone came across this problems? Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Hello, This patch adds support for Pruftechnik's ROTALIGN Alpha board. The patch allows to upload and flash Linux, then boots it. The second flash bank and SMC9196 chip do not work yet.
