Hey fellas, I am in a fix...and am a newbie... I have my u-boot for ARM926Ejs... And there are two DDR banks. The problem is I want to be able to run u-boot from both the banks... Reason? I need to do DDR testing (so need to change the offset values at times in the control registers of the DDR)... So if u-boot runs from Bank A, I can test Bank B, but as soon as I try and change control register of Bank A...my system crashes or resets... So I want to somehow use offsets to be used by the linker... Is that possible? In the bootcount_load and bootcount_store, we could use an uboot environment variable to store and load the value (if the env is in flash for example), isn't it?

A couple of "IMHO" comments about this code in no particular order: Is there any reason to have spartan2.c, virtex2.c and spartan3.c? They are pretty much copies of each other with search and replace. local PRINTF should be replaced with the global 'debug' macro. this issue behind this patch should be addressed (relocating null pointers) http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.boot-loaders.u-boot/22918 I believe the edict was given by wd@ that CFG_HZ was always to be 1000, and delays can be spec'd in units of ms rather than based off of CFG_HZ could do with some whitespace cleanup & reformatting to 80 cols. -- Hardware, n.: The parts of a computer system that can be kicked.

[U-Boot-Users] Malloc failed in env_relocate

Hi I am using u-boot-1.1.5 on MIPS32 core SoC. I am getting NULL pointer as return value of malloc from env_relocate() function. while debugging in mem_malloc_init() I come to know that mem_malloc_start= 0x81f80000 and mem_malloc_end=0xFFFFFFFF. But when i checked both the values in sbrk() which is called from malloc() i got mem_malloc_start=0xFFFFFFFF and mem_malloc_end=0xFFFFFFFF. How it happened ?? It may be the reason for getting NULL pointer. Please help me out. One more thing what should be the value of gd->reloc_off at mem_malloc_init().because in mem_malloc_init, mem_malloc_end = CFG_MONITOR_BASE + gd->relo_off and CFG_MONITOR_BASE is base address of Flash. In my case gd-relo_off=0xc23c0000 and CFG_MONITOR_BASE=0xBFC00000 so mem_alloc_end should be 0x181FC0000 but it is of 4byte so here is overflow and it become 0xFFFFFFFF.Is there anything wrong??
