Hi there. I'm just trying to sync with U-Boot development and found a little regresion in new mtdparts code. Previously I was using custom partition function, which let me do precisely what I wanted. mtd0 - U-Boot mtd1 - env mtd2 - r_env mtd3 - rootfs0 mtd4 - rootfs1 ... etc In above scheme my custom part function allowed only chpart [34], so it was not even possible to change partition to evn sector for example. Moreover it was pretty easy to construct kernel command line this way: setenv bootargs '$bootargs root=/dev/mtdblock$partition ro rootfstype=jffs2' And everything worked nicely. That is no longer case and it's real pain with both NOR and NAND devices used in system. Prefered solution for me is to fix kernel to be able to mount root filesystem from MTD device given by name (root=mtd:rootfs0) unless someone has better idea :-). Something which would work also with 2.4 kernels would be appreciated. ladis

Can any of you refer any link from where I can get a precompiled ramdisk image. Hello, My cpu is MPC8343E with dual tsec, phy is marvell 88E1111S. Now the physical link is up, but I just cannot ping. I printed some debug message about maccfg1/2 registers: => ping 192.168.1.1 tsec_halt Trying TSEC0 tsec_halt Speed: 100, full duplex TSEC0: maccfg2 = 0x7205 TSEC0: maccfg1 = 0xf Using TSEC0 device tsec_halt ping failed; host 192.168.1.1 is not alive I checked the MAC transmi counter register there are packets sending out, but no packet on the wire. The PHY is hard wired into RGMII to copper mode. Could anyone who has done similiar work point to where the problem is? Where to look at? Regards, - Reeve

Hi all, I am using u-boot 1.1.3 developed for a custom board which uses INCA Processor(MIPS 4K Core). The root file system is jffs2. Everything goes OK for the first time. My board is coming up and the application is also running. But problem occurs when I download any file through TFTP on to the board 3 or 4 times. I getting the following error, Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0 ### JFFS2 loading '/boot/uImage' to 0x80400000 Scanning JFFS2 FS: .... done. ### JFFS2 load complete: 750401 bytes loaded to 0x80400000 ## Booting image at 80400000 ... This patch adds the ETHPRIME option to the default_environment list. It not being there prevented CONFIG_ETHPRIME from working on a newly flashed board. The lists in 'common/env_common.c' and 'common/environment.c' are now synchronized. [U-Boot-Users] boot up u-boot from RAM

Hi all: I am debugging a costomized board based on mpc8270, due to the design flaw, we can't boot up the system using flash, so I was trying to debug u-boot by loading it into the RAM. I used JTAG debugger to initialize the SDRAM and load the u-boot to 0x0, after reset, the PC is at 0x100. the disassembled code looks correct on that location, however, i can't single step start from 0x100. Is that because 0x100 is the reset vector ? I tried to put some breakpoint at some places not far from start point, but it gave me "unknown halt at 0x00000000" error after "run" command. after that the memory seems corrupted. Too bad I was using a bad debugger(Guardian-SE), I have a evaluation copy of the codewarrior plus USB+TAP from freescale. I tried that on our PQ2FADS-VR SDK. After reset, and CPU halt, I can't see any disassembed code on 0x100 (the uboot is already in the flash, and I assume it should read data from CS0 upon reset). Although the code does execute after hitting "run" button. I wonder why can't I see the disassembed code after reset? Thanks lei

This fixes the case where either no PHY is attached to a TSEC (e.g. a switch is connected via RMII) or if the PHY is defective/incorrectly configured. Previous behavior was crash.
