[U-Boot-Users] Help req on IMMR selection for MPC8260 customs board

Hi, My MPC8260 based customs board gives the u-boot prompt with IMMR value 0x0F000000. Now I changed the IMMR to 0xF0000000, but the I can not get the Boot prompt, why? I change the IMMR in u-boot, as I found in the mailing list that for linux to come up we should change the IMMR in u-boot to 0xF0000000. Is this true? My questions are 1. Is it possible to bring up Linux by u-boot having IMMR 0x0F000000? ( I found in the documentation, that in Linux tree I need to set IMAP_ADDR=CFG_IMMR , but doing so, does not bring up Linux. where is the wrong? ) . I am bit confused that, in one document says that setting the same IMMR value both in U-boot and Linux should bring up Linux and the other document says that for Linux to come up IMMR value at u-boot should be set as 0xF0000000. What is the truth? 2. What to change to get boot prompt for IMMR 0xF0000000 The board we are using does not have BCSR. Iark, Just for reference, some time ago I posted two patches which may be useful for you in this case. Those weren't accepted yet, but this worked for me. [U-Boot-Users] Newbie problem on compiling u-boot for microblaze...

Dear all, I am trying to create a U-Boot image for a custom PCB design, which is using a microblaze processor. I took the "suzaku" version as a starting point for my U-Boot build. However, I am now stuck at a compiler error. When compiling cmd-bootm.c , I get an error in line 256, where it says "#error unknown CPU type" This looks to me like some kind of environment variable problem, where CPU=microblaze somehow goes missing. On the other hand, the toolchain IS invoking mb-gcc ... Has anyone else seen the same problem, or am I making a silly mistake somewhere ? This is my first attempt at creating a bootloader for this kind of system, so I assume I am missing something. Can anyone point me in the right direction ? Hello, community. I need your advice. I'm porting u-boot to new (not supported by u-boot) 8247A based board. I began with the previous u-boot, release 1.1.3, and built our project. Yesterday I moved the project to u-boot release 1.1.4 and since I have the compilation failure: common/libcommon.a(env_flash.o)(.text+0xe8): In function `saveenv': /home/seva/tools/u-boot-1.1.4/common/env_flash.c:332: undefined reference to `flash_sect_protect' common/libcommon.a(env_flash.o)(.text+0x108):/home/seva/tools/u-boot-1.1.4/common/env_flash.c:336: undefined reference to `flash_sect_erase' common/libcommon.a(env_flash.o)(.text+0x158):/home/seva/tools/u-boot-1.1.4/common/env_flash.c:349: undefined reference to `flash_sect_protect' In the project's header file I've defined CONFIG_COMMANDS as: #define CONFIG_COMMANDS (CFG_CMD_ECHO | CONFIG_CMD_DFL | CONFIG_JFFS2_CMDLINE | CFG_CMD_FLASH) During debug I've found that the file cmd_flash.c doesn't compile at all. Above the meaning code I inserted next lines for test purpose: ------------- #include <common.h> #include <command.h> #if (CONFIG_COMMANDS) #error #endif ------------- Then I've seen that compilation passed but resulted object: 1.
