I have been using mipsel-linux-uclibc-gcc 3.4.2 with binutils 2.15.91.0.2, and I have no -allow_branch_to_undefined in this toolchain. I patched cpu/mips/start.S to set up the GOT gp earlier, and used jal instructions to get to memsetup and the other subroutines called there. I also had to do a runtime calculation of the GOT offset. Hello, I'd like to know if someone are using mipsel-linux-as version greater than 2.15 to compile u-boot. This version of binutils seems not compatible with mipsel-linux-gcc 3.4.3 or newer. Option "-allow_branch_to_undefined" is still needed on binutils newer than 2.15? Uboot User support, Please let me know if this is outside of the directive for u-boot support. I am developing a single board computer that utilizes the PowerPC 405EP processor. As such, we will naturally need to install a loader on our board to load our application from Flash on power-up. We are very interested in soliciting for-hire contract support to: 1. Bundle the u-boot loader source code that can generate a U-Boot image that can be installed and run on the AMCC405EP Evaluation board. 2. Write a simple "Hello World" application that can be loaded on the eval board on power-up. 3. Write a 1-2 page document that summarizes exactly how to build the U-Boot image and "Hellow World" application for the 405EP and install it on the 405EP eval board. With the AT91RM92000 from ATMEL chip, there is an integrated uploader in the cpu that can work with USB, that's all I' know about it for now. One thing I sure: A USB cable is certainly the cheapest! Best regards, Koen

Hi, I am trying to port U-Boot for Mainstone 2 board, U-boot does not support Mainstone patches yet. But with the code that i received I can get the board to boot. But i cannot get the Ethernet Interface working. Could anyone please explain me how the initialization/setting up of Ethernet interface happens in U-boot source code. PLease help me understand this concept. Wolfgang Attached patch fixes the 920 boards. Tested with MAKEALL arm. It is incremental against my head CVS checkout of 26th September 2005. I think that our difficulties mainly arise from the fact that ARMs three development boards can have eighteen cpu/baseboard combinations..... Dear All, I am using PPC405EP processor and I have a custom built cross - compiler. I want to use standard ANSIC header files i.e. stdio.h, stdlib.h. But when I include these header files in my sources I get compiler error, however I have these file in the following directory ... D:\cygwin\opt\powerpc-eabi\powerpc-eabi\include But the compiler is trying to look for them in this directory ... D:\cygwin\opt\powerpc-eabi\lib\gcc\powerpc-eabi\3.4.0 Any clues please ?? Wolfgang, I agree that hardcoded MAC is not a good thing since it is not really required. I noticed that 8272ADS also has the only FCC - the relevant change for it is also included. Attached a patch which enables the second Ethernet address in MPC885ADS and MPC8272ADS configurations. Patch made against current CVS. Wolfgang, See attached patch file (Outlook will wrap lines if I inline it). This implements the iopset command for the mpc8xx. Current u-boot gives you the "not implemented yet" message. I got tired of adding in ioport changes and recompiling each time. Written and tested using u-boot-1.1.1 on an mpc860, but no changes have been made to the edited files since that tag. I couldn't figure out a simple clean solution since the 4 ioports are not all together, not all have the same number of registers, and some are ushorts while others are uints. So I gave up and did the brute force approach. If anyone else has a better solution, be my guest. Also noticed that the iopinfo displays ports A, C, and D incorrectly on the mpc8xx. Ports 1-15 and displayed under 16-31 headers. But I'll save that fix for another day... CHANGELOG: Implemented iopset command on mpc8xx Dan Eisenhut

U-Boot support for Lubbock still needs some work, but this fixes a few of the more blatant problems. I look forward to replacing that crufty old "BLOB" with a shiny new U-Boot. :) I saw some email archived from about 10 months back saying that the TFTP timeout/retry problems went away given PXA timer updates, but like the ethernet patch that was also needed, a patch wasn't posted or merged. Maybe someone who has unmerged PXA updates has the relevant code ready to merge? - Dave

Hello, This patch is against a CVS pull from today (3Mar05). It updates the H4 board for operation with the OMAP242x ES2 chip. Along with some other fixes it also switches to using the CFI flash driver for a 6x write speed up. The CFI driver needed some minor changes as this Intel part works on a per partition basis. The current driver would assume that a query command to the base of the part would affect the whole chip. This is not the case. It also had some strange code which acted like sector unlocks were per chip instead of per sector, this is not the case. - OMAP242x H4 board update - fix for ES2 differences. - switch to using the cfi_flash driver. - fix SRAM build address. - fix for GP device operation. - unlock SRAM for GP devices. - display more device information. - fix potential deadlock in omap24xx_i2c driver. - fix DLL load values to match dpllout*1 operation. - fix 2nd chip select init for combo DDR device. - cfi_flash.c - add support for CFI Intel 28F256L18 on H4 board.
