[U-Boot-Users] [PATCH] fix typo in mkconfig script

This patch fixes a typo in the "mkconfig" script. The operator "==" is used instead of "=", which works with bash's built-in "test" (aka "[") but not with solaris "/bin/sh" i.e. the script is no-longer standard bourne shell compatible. Cheers! [U-Boot-Users] Problem while Enabling Data Cache for MPC8260 based custom board

Dear Mailing List, We have designed MPC8260 based custom board. I enabled I-Cache and u-boot still works. But as soon as I enabled D-Cache nothing comes up on Hyper Terminal. Can anyone suggest regarding this problem? [U-Boot-Users] Major cleanup for AMCC eval boards

Hello everybody, as you might have seen from the latest check-ins on the CVS server (resp. our git tree) we are in the process of performing a major cleanup on the U-Boot implementation for all AMCC eval boards (Bam- boo, Bunbinga, Ebony, Ocotea, Sycamore, Walnut, Yellowstone, Yosemi- te). Our aim is to provide exactly the same look and feel across all these boards, and to create matching versions of the DULG for these boards. This work is being done by Stefan Roese, who will continue to have a look for these boards and other PPC4xx related issues. Assuming that you will agree I have changed the MAINTAINERS file and bestowed maintainership for these boards on him. Please let me know if you think this is not OK. [U-Boot-Users] PPC440GX exception handler and associated text strings

I'm having a problem with exception detection and subsequent message display while running u-boot-1.1.2: I'm currently running uboot-1.1.2 on a PPC440GX Ocotea evaluation board and am not seeing any exception messages (that are defined in u-boot-1.1.2\cpu\ppc4xx\traps.c) when I force exceptions to happen (I'm particularly interested in seeing the machine check exception string and associated register dump). What appears to be happening is the PPC just enters a loop and is no longer functioning when the exception happens. All the registers appear to be set up correctly. I can manually cause the exception strings to be displayed by using the 'go <handler_address>' uboot command, so I think the code built OK. The code I am running is umodified; it is the standard uboot-1.1.2 distribution for the Ocotea board. Does anybody have any ideas as to why I'm not seeing the exception strings when an exception occurs? Regards, -Scott

Actuall I am fiddling in drivers/cfi_flash.c to find a convenient function for the following purpose: I wan't to read the product and vendor id of my falsh device to choose a proper value for burst timings to be programmed in the later step into the device. In the future at least two different types of devices will be soldered onto the board (intel k3 or p30) and they need different timings to get the best from their hardware capabilities. Hi, I know u-boot is not an OS and is not intended to implement all the functionality you might expect of one. Sorry, I should have been more clear in what I was trying to do. Given that u-boot can handle ethernet comms. I was looking at how I could enable telnet as an alternative to a serial connection. We're using a ppc based embedded controller in a network management capacity where there is already ethernet but no serial. It's not clear at the moment whether we'll boot linux or run a standalone application to perform management functions. The first step would seem to be to respond to interrupts on receipt of an ethernet packet. It was this first step I was asking for feedback on.
