Hi Hamid, i dont know the the at91rm9200dk board myself. I talked to our hardware engineer and he told me that we have the same wiring as the at91rm9200dk board (Davicom DM9161E ethernet interface chip etc.). I currently dont have the time to do a extensive debuging on the ethernet interface. [U-Boot-Users] global data pointer on arm

Hi, I'm currently trying to replace armboot with u-boot-1.1.1 on a custom board with an epxa10 chip. While debugging, I discovered that the compiled code of getenv_r destroys the content of r8, which holds the global data pointer. Of course this makes u-boot fail. Is this a bug in u-boot or the toolchain? Or did I miss something else? Regards, Andreas

[U-Boot-Users] IBMPPC440GX & LINUX / U-BOOT

Hi, I am using uboot 1.1.1 I have an embedded ppc440gx using emac2 in RGMII mode, I have ported the driver (by Matt Porter) from 2.6 to 2.4 for the phy chip (cicada CIS8201). If I allow the machine to boot from power on the ethernet appears to come up and states there is a 1000Mb FD connection, however ping fails to work and no data can be transfered across the network. However if I stop the autoboot and use any u-boot command that uses the network (ping, dhcp, bootp, tftp, etc etc) and then proceed using boot the network works in linux, I can ping and transfer data to my hearts content. I have two theories on this 1. U-Boot (network driver initialisation) is leaving the ethernet in a strange halfway state. 2. The driver is not correctly initialised by Linux. I have already added the ppc440gx_eth_init and ppc440gx_setup_bridge separately, as one calls the other, to the network initialisation however neither of these solve the problem and eth_init only causes the machine to hang when booting linux. Any ideas / suggestions would be helpful Thanks in advance Daren

Dear Wolfgang, I was curious to know the status of the Patch for PXA250 based Cerfboard that i submitted on the 27th June . Has the Patch got lost in the heap of other patches , or do i need to rework on the patch to get it submitted in the offical u-boot sources ? Since this is the first time i am submitting on the u-boot list, i am not well versed with the patch acceptance policy . Hello, our custom board runs now perfectly with u-boot 1.1.1 except that the ethernet is not working. But the ethernet worked when we used u-boot 0.4.0. Changing only the driver file at91rm9200_ether.c, now using the u-boot 0.4.0 driver file version in u-boot 1.1.1 helped to fix this problem. wbr Peter

hi, i m using snapgear 3.1.1 + u-boot 1.1.1 on my ixdp425. I have 2 problems. 1. Board is booting with 1405K compressed ramdisk without any problem. suppose if i increase the size, i m getting Oops Error. I have 16mb of SDRAM. Any tips to fix it ?. 2. Actually the board has come with redboot. while tried with redboot, it created 5 Partitions on the Flash. Now i m using U-boot. My plan is boot the board with ramdisk and mounting jffs2 file system in partition. I dont know how to create a partition and repsent as mtdblockX.i dont know how should proceed furthur ?. Any tips highly appreciatable. Thanks Prakash

Hi folks: A new project about porting u-boot is assigned to me. but I don't have any experience about it. I read the readme file from the u-boot 1.1.1 source code. A clear procedure of the porting comes in my mind. But there are also some basic issues about it. please give me some hints about it. 1. Generally, what kind tool is good for debugging the u-boot code? our platform is based on ARM archtechiture, so MultiICE is avaiable for us. 2. What is the minimal requirement for running the u-boot? CPU->SDRAM->serial port? After serail is ok, then we can add some printf stuff in the next developing code. Is that right? please give us some advice about it. Thank a lot. P.S.
