Hi Wolfgang, Since I have not been able to contact the maintainer of the Sandpoint8245 board I have decided to go ahead and send this patch in. The patch is very simple and simply selects the correct clock for the console based on which serial port you select to be used as the console. Hi, I'm trying to download the hello_world srec-sample to my Nios Stratix Board with cu. I get the following printout: DK1S10 > loads ## Ready for S-Record download ... ~>hello_world.srec 1 R R R R R R R R R [timed out looking for echo] [connected] my configuration: U-Boot 1.1.2 (May 24 2004 - 15:54:07) CPU: Nios-32 Rev. 3.3 (0x3038) Reg file size: 512 LO_LIMIT/HI_LIMIT: 1/30 Board: Altera Nios 1S10 Development Kit Conf.: Microtronix LDK 2.0 (LDK2) In: serial Out: serial Err: serial It does not work with kermit either. Greetings u-boot'ers: Slightly off topic: I have in my possession several Embedded Planet RPX Classic boards. (Currently orphaned according to the readme). They have the EP boot firmware loaded in the flash. I've tried running they're 'program flash' code in an attempt to get u-boot into the flash to no avail. The flash is soldered down and I have no bdi firmware for the 860. (this is a personal project, so no budget for debugger FW). Does anyone have instructions for burning u-boot into the flash using their program? It looks like I have to wrap the u-boot.bin with something, but it isn't intuitive from their documentation. Also, debuggers do NOT like having the IMMR change by the software they are debugging. They don't have any way of knowing that your software changed the IMMR, so they will be using the wrong IMMR, causing problems like you are seeing. Tip: set the IMMR to where you want it (or can live with it) using the HRCW and DO NOT CHANGE IT in software. Your phrase "as soon as the code starts to manage IMMR" is something that should not be said. Hi Wolfgang, Sorry if the name is misleading, or not exact, I tried to denote with it the following: In order to set the correct base address for the flash memory, U-Boot has to know somehow the boot mode of the board. There are two of it. In the first ROM is mapped to address 0 and the flash is to address 0x0C00000. In the second mode the two are swapped, ROM is at 0x0C000000 and flash is at 0. Boot happens always from address 0. In this way we can effectivly select (with a dip switch) where we'd like to boot from. At the moment U-Boot has to be configured to either of the two modes. There are 3 make targets for this, first and third being equivalent: omap1610h2_config ( ==omap1610h2_cs3_boot_config ) omap1610h2_cs0_boot_config omap1610h2_cs3_boot_config It is possible however to determine the boot mode automatically, from an OMAP status register and thus set the flash base address correctly. For this I added a new target omap1610h2_cs_autoboot_config. Maybe it should be a CONFIG variable instead of 4 targets for each board (H2, Innovator), like CONFIG_OMAP_BOOTMODE_CS0 CONFIG_OMAP_BOOTMODE_CS3 CONFIG_OMAP_BOOTMODE_DETECT ? Hello, this patch fixes a timing problem in the MPC5xxx I2C function i2c_probe(). The problem could occour, if i2c_probe() is called successive without delay between the calls as for example in I2C POST test. On my board the POST test found a second I2C EEPROM device that doesn't really exist right after the real EEPROM. Hi A misplaced #endif caused checkboard() not to explicitly return if CONFIG_IDE_PCMCIA was not set in config.
