[U-Boot-Users] porting u-boot: to what extent must the flash.c / u-boot.lds be customized?

I've been asked to measure the approximate time I'll need to finish porting u-boot. I have developed optimistic beliefs about most of the things I still need to do, but I almost didn't touch the flash.c and the u-boot.lds yet. Is it probable I'll be able to "copy&paste"-program most of the flash.c because I'll use rather often used AMD AM29LV320D chips? Is the u-boot.lds difficult to modify? Peter Asemann

[U-Boot-Users] Trouble on PXA w/kernel command-line

Hello: I have u-boot up and running on my PXA-255 based custom board, and the linux kernel is booting and running. GREAT! The problem is that the command-line (as set in the u-boot environment variable) is not getting to the kernel. This isn't a terribly serious problem but it's time for me to sort this out. Please let me know what would be the best way to debug this problem, and where I ought to look for the problem in u-boot/kernel code. Thanks in advance, craig vanderborgh voxware incorporated

Hi all, I'm using an at91rm9200 cpu (not an at91rm9200dk board) with an STM29W320DB70N6 flash and u-boot 1.1.1 u-boot runs with the at91rm9200dk_config settings but flash is wrong (Bank # 1: Atmel: AT49BV1614 (16Mbit) Size: 2 MB in 40 Sectors ...) When I try to use: #define CFG_FLASH_CFI 1 #define CFG_FLASH_CFI_DRIVER 1 u-boot starts but shows only "missing or unknown FLASH type" with flinfo Is this type of flash not supported ? or is my configuration wrong ? [U-Boot-Users] Nand flash problem

Hi, I m giving support of a 32MB Nand from STMicroelectronics in the u-boot.I have added the manufaturer id and device id in the list of the already supported device.The device is recognised successfully by the u-boot.But the problem is that It shows all the blocks as the bad block and not able to read and write on the Nand.While the Nand is working fine if I used the driver of the kernel after booting the kernel with the Help of the debugger I,e nand is not defective.Can anyone pls tell me what can be the problem. [U-Boot-Users] When are patches merged to mainline

Hello Wolfgang, I'm curious about the process for submitted patches and when they appear in the U-Boot codebase under CVS. I've been merging today's CVS snapshot with our mods for a custom PPC440 board and found a piece of missing code. A while back, the patch was submitted to the u-boot-users list by it does not appear to be in the latest codebase. [U-Boot-Users] u-boot PCMCIA Support w/ PXA-255??

Hello All: I have managed to get u-boot running on my PXA255/SA1111-based board. Our board seems to be pretty close to the Intel "Lubbock" reference design, so I was able to get a slightly modified Lubbock u-boot configuration to work on this board. Now, what I REALLY need is to get PCMCIA working w/u-boot and this board. Specifically, I need to be able to use dhcp/tftp from u-boot to download images to configure the board in the field. Initially, I need ne2000 support, but later on I'll have to have 802.11b card support. It appears that I need some sample source that illustrates how to bring up PCMCIA on the PXA255/SA1111. I have not been able to find a good example of this so far, and I am hoping (praying??) that someone out in u-boot-land or DENX-land has already done some work to get PCMCIA working in u-boot. I have the Linux PCMCIA sources (for PXA/SA1111) and I *might* be able to adapt them, but they aren't working yet and it seems like working on the simpler case (u-boot standalone PCMCIA) might be a better place to get a foothold. ANY ideas you may have or pointers to other documentation would be appreciated. I am struggling because PCMCIA support seems to be pretty thin in the various bootloaders - u-boot included.
