Hello, Attached patch makes timer_interrupt to perform watchdog reset on all boards that support watchdog and not only for OXC. CHANGELOG: perform watchdog reset in mpc824x timer interrupt on all boards that have watchdog. -- Gleb.

hi, there : I use FADS860T in my board , and i changed some files , i use SCC1 for the ethernet , but the 'ping ' command doesn't work , what's the error ? how can i make it work ? thanks a lot! [U-Boot-Users] SDRAM and DRAM mapping on FADS

Hello, I am porting u-boot 1.0 to MPC862ADS board with MPC862P processor. The user manual says the board is compatible with MPC8xxFADS for SW point of view. The board has 8M SDRAM and additional 32M EDO DRAM (or 16M) will be inserted. According to the fads.c file, SDRAM is physically mapped at address 0 and DRAM immediately follows SDRAM, i.e. DRAM is mapped at 0x800000. So the BR2/OR2, BR3/OR3 are initialized as follows: 16 Mbyte DRAM uses only CS2: memctl->memc_or2 = 0xff000800; memctl->memc_br2 = 0x00800081; 32 Mbyte DRAM uses both CS3 and CS2: memctl->memc_or3 = 0xff000800; memctl->memc_br3 = 0x01800081; memctl->memc_or2 = 0xff000800; memctl->memc_br2 = 0x00800081; With these settings, bank 2 is mapped to 0x00000000~0x00ffffff, bank 3 is mapped to 0x01800000~0x01ffffff. This is not the desired mapping. The desired mapping is: 0x00800000~(0x01800000-1) => bank2, 0x01800000~(0x02800000-1) => bank3. But I don't think we can get this mapping by setting BR/OR2 and BR3/OR3 with appropriate values. So I think DRAM should be mapped at address 0 and SDRAM follows if the DRAM size is 16MB or 32MB. Is my understanding correct?

Bill, Great job with the coding! U-boot came up on the first build(with your patches), with no mods <BUBINGA405EP>. Just a quick note... The memory config on the 405EP Eval board is still incorrect. The Physical DIMM is 64-bit, but the memory bus is 32-bit... therefore, only half of the memory gets used... In spd_sdram.c, I added a line after 354 that divided 'total_size' by two. This appears to do the init correctly. BTW-Is anyone able to get a uImage built kernel to boot off a 405EP Eval board? I'd love to know what version... My kernel dies pretty early... Hi Steve I have another question if you don't mind. Which hardware bring-up tool do you use? Being a Wind River user, we have a Vision Probe II. I believe that Wind River has a plan to upgrade this tool for use with Linux, but I wonder if it is of use as is. I also see that Wolfgang Denk favours the BDI2000. Do you have any comments please? I using a Vision ice probe II, as that what we had when we used vxWorks. I used it from an NT workstation just to flash and get the u-boot registers correct. Once u-boot is running i havnt used the probe. U-boot has the capability to erase and program flash using serial or network. Worked for me.
