Hi all, happy patching again ... In attatchment you will find a CFG_HZ configuration patch for NIOS Cyclone board. It's very important to ensure a proper higher lever operation (especially time-out controls). Wolfgang, could you put it into the CVS repository? Hi all, in context of one of my emails last week: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=3364771&forum_id=128… I'm wondering about how many people are using the LAN91C111 driver without significant problems. There is (just was :-) a fat signed/unsigned bug in drivers/smc91111.c which is significant at NIOS plattforms when you are using MAC addresses with address elements above 0x7f. Example: 00:07:ed:0a:a4:7b goes over to 00:07:ed:ff:a4:ff inside the chip. Simple solution: static char smc_mac_addr[] = { . . . }; have to be: static char unsigned smc_mac_addr[6] = { . . . }; In attatchment you will find my smc91111_fix patch. It includes some other minor fixes I've made. This patch has been working successful at NIOS Stratix and Cyclone boards. Please try out and patch CVS tree. Hi there, the attached patch addresses two MII related issues: a) mii info <addr> ignored <addr> and always showed info for 32 PHYs b) The "Trick" mentioned in miiphy_info(): " * Trick: we are reading two 16 registers into a 32 bit variable * so we do a 16 read into the high order bits of the variable (big * endian, you know), shift it down 16 bits, and the read the rest." does obviously not work on little endian machines. * Patch by Steven Scholz, 20 Oct 2003 - "mii info <addr>" now only shows the info for PHY "addr" as the help message already suggests - Endian fix for miiphy_info() Thanks, Steven

hi all, I'm trying to use u-boot on a altera's stratix 1S10 board.... I've downloaded the stephan's RPM u-boot port for this board...and downloaded intoo my board...but it doesn't work has anyone succeded to boot u-boot on this board? is the port incorporated in the 1.0.0 u-boot version...I just see the cyclone board.... Hi all, I need some help converting a patch for ppcboot-1.1.6 to u-boot. I've got the following patch for ppcoot-1.1.6: http://wkamphuis.student.utwente.nl/u-boot/ppcboot-1_1_6_qs.patch This patch is for the QSLinux QST23/QS850/QS860T boards. See http://www.snmc.com/prod_qs850.html The patch is made by Daris Nevil (SNMC), it works fine but hasn't been ported to u-boot yet, it's also very large (+500k). The past few days I've been busy porting this patch to u-boot, version 1.0.0. While porting I've run into a problem. Saving the environment to flash ('saveenv') works but this environment isn't read when rebooting. I can't figure out why. Our board has 8Mb flash, mapped to ff800000. Here's the layout: ff800000 to ffee0000: root filesystem ffee0000 to ff000000: readwrite ext2 filesystem fff00000 to fff20000: u-boot fff20000 to ffffffff: linux kernel We define: #define CFG_MONITOR_BASE 0xFFF00000 #define CFG_ENV_SECT_SIZE (128*1024) #define CFG_ENV_SIZE (2*1024) #define CFG_ENV_ADDR (CFG_MONITOR_BASE + CFG_ENV_SECT_SIZE - CFG_ENV_SIZE) So the environment is located at fff1f800. I've added some debugging into the source, which results in: file console.c, func console_init_f, line 368 CFG_ENV_ADDR = 'fff1f800' gd->env_addr = 'fff08174' Memory location fff1f800 contains nothing, but after a 'saveenv' my environment is saved there. Memory location fff08174 contains my default environment and is unchanged after a 'saveenv'. Shouldn't gd->env_addr be equal to CFG_ENV_ADDR? Now my saved environment settings aren't read and after a reset all settings are restored to the defaults. How much testing has been done on little-endian mode of u-boot? Does everyone pretty much just use big-endian, or is there a mix? I am working on getting the Compact Flash to work properly on the Au1500, and I know there is some weirdness with this particular chip, but I just wondered if anyone else has similar problems in little-endian mode. I noticed that there was special handling done in common/cmd_ide.c for input_swap_data(), but not for input_data(). It would seem to me that if one of them was in the wrong endian mode, the other other would be as well, or did I miss the point? Same thing for input_data_short()? And if they bytes need to be swapped in the input routines, don't they need to be swapped on the output routines as well? Does all of this only need to be done for the AU1X00 series processors? Hi, I need some insight into the u-boot cpu/mpc8xx/scc.c driver. I am able to use the SCC4 with these settings but to use the SCC3 I have got to comment these line.
