Hi, attached is a patch which changes the behaviour of NetLoop(). I am using a board, which has its own bootloader and which loads u-boot via bootp/tftp. u-boot needs to get its network settings from that bootp server too, but to load the linux kernel via bootp/tftp it must use a different filename than given by the bootp server. the beginning of the u-boot commandline looks like this: setenv autoload no; bootp; tftpboot 100000 kernel The current version of u-boot stops executing the commandline before tftpboot, because the bootp command returns an error, when NetLoop() returns zero. Currently NetLoop returns the loaded file size or zero on failure. If you do not load a file, then file size stays zero and will be interpreted as a failure, too. This also prevents netboot_update_env() from being called in cmd_net.c. This patch changes the behaviour so that NetLoop returns -1 on error. Zero and positive integers can then be handled as the file size correctly. It also removes a warning in list.h. ;) Best Regards, Andreas

After trying this it appears that I am back to linking a usable image. Hello, The attached patch modify the fdcboot source code to support wide hardware designs I needed to add some defines because : - on some boards, the fdc registers aren't contiguous (for example they can be aligned on a 32 bits boundary). - the fdc chipset has a 8 bits data bus. Then, it can be connected on the processor data bus on D0-D7 or D8-D15 or D16-D23 or D24-D31. - the floppy drive can be on drive other than 0. - some chipsets need extra initializations. CFG_ISA_IO_STRIDE : defines the spacing between fdc chipset registers (default value 1) CFG_ISA_IO_OFFSET : defines the offset of register from address. It depends on which part of the data bus is connected to the fdc chipset. (default value 0) CFG_FDC_DRIVE_NUMBER : the default drive number (default value 0) If CFG_ISA_IO_STRIDE CFG_ISA_IO_OFFSET and CFG_FDC_DRIVE_NUMBER are undefined, they take their default value. if CFG_FDC_HW_INIT is defined, then the function fdc_hw_init() is called at the beginning of the fdc setup. The function fdc_hw_init must be provided by the board source code. It is used to make hardware dependant initializations. Hi everybody, The attached patch add the support for slave serial Spartan 2 FPGAs. It has been tested on our custom board. As for the Slave Parallel Implementation, the board code must provide some functions for handling the FPGA signals CCLK, PROGRAM, INIT, DONE and DIN. What you are forgetting is there the list of supported board currently in U-Boot are not all the configurations available. There are configurations that make Wolfgang's example look very simple that are not released back to U-Boot for one reason or another. The flash sector that holds our environment variables in our flash is 128K. I know that I am going to have to add whatever configuration mechanism you add to our close source boards and this is my problem and I've hacked the kernel config files about enough to do this but I still say... If it isn't broke why fix it.
